June Local Bouquet - Styled Shoot

A Local Bouquet in June

When Abby Higgs Photography approached me for a simple styled shoot, I was excited to make a bouquet full of local beauty for their evening at the HF Bar Ranch in Saddlestring, WY. Our late start to Summer here in Sheridan left us with an abundance of peonies showing off, along with coral bells, ox-eye daisies, chamomile, and a few other little treasures I was able to pick from neighbors’ yards and local farms.

Growing flowers on a large scale in our climate is so difficult and I always jump at the chance to play with flowers grown so close to home.

A Little Bit of Italy for a Wyoming Rehearsal Dinner

When Anthony’s mom reached out to see if I could bring her vision to life for a rehearsal dinner at the HF Bar Ranch, I couldn’t help but give an enthusiastic YES.

The dinner was hosted in the old dance hall, strung with twinkle lights and overseen by ranch legends from the walls above.

Their multi-course Italian dinner was accompanied by candlelight, lush olive foliage, and so much joy.

Lindley Rust Photography captured all the magic with planning and execution by Sacred Rim Event Planning.

A Wyoming Wildflower Wedding in July

These two met and fell in love in the Big Horn Mountains so it was only fitting to become Mr. and Mrs. in the place where it all started. Angelica and Alec planned a laid back week-long celebration at Paradise Ranch outside of Buffalo, WY. A Whirly Girl Flowers first - they were married on a Monday afternoon in the gorgeous chapel on the ranch and partied into the evening with a gourmet meal from Bonafide Food. The entire magical day was captured by the talented Cassie Madden from Sheridan, WY.

We used the glorious early summer meadows of Wyoming as inspiration for their wildflower themed day. The groom provided delicate and intricate feathers for the boutonnieres which complimented his custom-made feather bowtie from Twin-M Design.

The groom made me 24 matching cedar boxes for these pieces. They lined the windows in the chapel for the ceremony and then moved to decorate the tables in the gazebo for dinner. We used a few pheasant feathers to bring a little extra magic to the design and I’m in love with the look!

Cheers to move adventures, more travel, and a love that endures!

World Traveler's Destination Wedding in Wyoming

That happy, just married glow.

That happy, just married glow.

When I initially spoke with Amina, they lived in Chicago and were prepping for a big move to South Africa. It was a dream come true and something they’d both worked hard for.

In the meantime, they had a wedding to plan in Wyoming - a place she’d never even been. Matthew grew up spending summers at the Historic Eaton’s Ranch just outside of Sheridan, WY and it was the perfect place to host their families for a simple destination wedding in Wyoming. We planned all her florals over email with a quick call before they left.

She wanted her custom gown from Alexandra Grecco to provide a canvas for her flowers. A bouquet of whites with lots of green and brown textures. I used white garden roses, dried poppy pods from my garden, green millet for texture and a variety of foliages including grevelia, eucalyptus, and ferns. We don’t have many local flowers but a single perfect love in a puff vine added the perfect finishing touch.

You can find their wedding featured by Alexandra Grecco here. When I asked Amina about her dress, she said it was simple and elegant and without embellishment. She wanted to the flowers to add stand out and shine. A bride after my own heart.
