A Mountaintop wedding in Rust & Sage

Kaylie & Gerrit planned a mountaintop ceremony and rustic-chic reception at Meadowlark Ski Lodge for their August wedding in the Big Horn Mountains.

The groom wore a three-piece charcoal suit and paisley sage-green tie while the ladies wore an assortment of dresses from David’s Bridal in Dusty Sage. The bride found her stunning Essense of Australia gown at Dora Grace Bridal and looked absolutely incredible in the graphic lace.

Buffalo, WY-based wedding Dani Jerry Photography captured the day and all the magical details. As a florist, it always makes my heart happy to see the flowers we dreamed of with clients captured in all their glory and edited in true-to-life colors.

Kaylie wanted her bouquet to feel rustic and warm, reflecting the natural beauty of our Big Horn Mountains and the wildness of Wyoming. I used a variety of eucaluptus and grevelia, bronze amaranth, finely textured calycinia, Sweet William, toffee roses, and fragrant tuberose for her bouquet.

For their reception, they utilized our bulk, DIY greenery for simple faux garland on the long tables at the lodge. Paired with rust table runners, simple pillar candles, and antlers they had the perfect look for their reception and stayed within their budget for decor.

Their wedding venue in the Big Horn Mountains came with gorgeous farm tables and rustic chairs in addition to the striking views at Meadowlark Ski Lodge. You can choose between a mountaintop ceremony with stunning vistas of the Big Horn Mountains, Lakeside beauty or the lovely deck for your ceremony.

Congratulations!

A Micro wedding in Wyoming

When planning a June wedding in Wyoming you risk all types of weather. It could be blustery, wet, and maybe even snow. Or, as we experienced for Delaney and Kalvin - the sun could be scorching hot with the wind blowing like a furnace. When I pulled onto the ranch for their wedding, my car read 102*.

Like most couples getting married in 2020, the plans changed for their wedding. Instead of the large gathering with family and friends from across the country at the family ranch where they met, these two decided to keep their wedding date and pare back the guestlist for a micro wedding on their family ranch.

We pivoted to an intimate ceremony overlooking the vast Wyoming prairie with the Big Horn Mountains in the distance but kept the lush garden roses and peonies from our original plan. The weekend was coordinated by Ashley Marie Weddings, Catered by Bonafide Food, and captured by Nate Griffin of Nashville, TN.

Due to the heat and extreme wind we faced that afternoon, I built the foundations of the ceremony pillars in an outbuilding and then transferred them to the ceremony spot in the back of our truck. Instead of our first plan over looking the valley on the edge of the bluff, we tucked into a juniper grove. This spot still had stunning views but was protected from the 30+mph gusts coming off the hot prairie below.

Congratulations to the sweetest couple!

A Dayton Wedding in Blush

Ashley is a flower lover like me and a friend of Anastasia - a 2017 bride. She planned a simple family wedding in Dayton, WY and wanted lush greenery with a touch of blush which I was more than happy to oblige! You’d never guess from these pictures but it was one of the hottest days of the summer and well over 100*’s at ceremony time.

Thankful for these photos captured by Braidyn Looper Photography.

Intimate Family Wedding

Love comes at all times in life and is always worth celebrating. Julie and Smiley live in SD but planned a destination wedding in Sheridan where Julie raised her children. They were married at the Historic Sheridan Inn last March with their families and friends there to celebrate. We used lots of eucalyptus, classy calla lilies, succulents and sweet roses for the bouquets created by yours truly and DIY centerpieces put together by Julie and her daughters ahead of the party.

I’m always a fan of couples who make the day their own and love her skirt+denim combo.

I often try and fail to capture bouquets and flowers at home. Time is short or lighting isn’t ideal, the studio is a mess or I’m simply too tired after a day creating. I’m so grateful for the professionals I work with who capture details for me like Mandy with M.C. Picture Company!

I did happen to capture a few shots just before sending these beauties out the door and this little petite bouquet shot has been one of the most popular this year!

The perfect petite bouquet for the maids! Filled with three kinds of eucalyptus and a single gorgeous rose.

A Story Book Wedding

These two lovebirds met in High School and were married on a warm September evening near Story, Wy. They wanted something wild and beautiful. Classy and fun. Dinner and dancing under the twinkle lights followed a ceremony in the meadow. Enjoy!

There are so many incredible pictures captured by the talented Rebekah Viola, I'm not going to apologize for posting so many.
